STUDY ABROAD

Students seeking study abroad experiences have access to the many departments at FUA. Flexible academic sessions are offered throughout the year to students seeking semester, quarter/short programs, January intersession, or various summer options. An exceptionally broad and stimulating curriculum is available through diverse areas of studies and academic disciplines. In addition to academics, studying abroad with FUA features several experiential components such as educational field-trips, getting involved in the local culture through community service and volunteer opportunities, and extracurricular activities. US credit is available for all periods of study for students from a non-affiliated home institution. FUA's dedicated staff assists students through every step of getting them to Florence, from admissions to academics and housing. Studying abroad at FUA is characterized by the institution’s efforts in cultural integration. The institution’s position places FUA in direct contact with the city’s culture, movements, and events. 

 
   

BACHELOR'S DEGREES

A unique undergraduate studies opportunity is available for students wishing to pursue their college degrees in an international context. Students may take three years or 90 academic credits of coursework at the FUA campuses in Florence, Italy, and transfer to a fourth year of coursework online or on campus with Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), which awards the bachelor's degree for completed programs of study. Three distinct program options are available – Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Studies with concentrations in Art History and Fine Arts, Bachelor of Arts in Communication & Interactive Digital Media with concentrations in Digital Media, E-Publishing, and Visual Communication; and the Bachelor of Business Administration for FUA students with studies concentrating on Culinary Arts, Food Service Management or Management for the Hospitality and Tourism Industry. FUA Career Programs may qualify for program transfer to a degree-seeking status.

Graduate studies feature organizational management, summer hospitality experiential learning, sustainable urban design, customized programs in all areas and service learning opportunities. 

ENRICHMENT
PROGRAMS


Non-credit enrichment programs, seminars and classes are open to all whether current students or visitors to Florence for a specialized learning experience in addition to its for-credit academic sessions.

PROFESSIONALIZING & EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING

Experiential Learning for civic and professional engagement within the Florentine community and Italian culture can be integrated into regular session courses or created as internship, volunteer or community service experiences. 

 
   

PRE-COLLEGE PROGRAMS

High school students desiring to experience a pre-college academic experience in Florence and receive credit can do so at FUA in a safe environment offering college-level courses and engaging cultural activities.
