Research is the crossroads where the knowledge of today encounters the potential to shape future practices. Florence University of the Arts sustains the development of new ideas that positively impact the global landscape. As an academic institution, FUA believes in the importance of research conducted in parallel with classroom instruction for the reciprocal learning advantage of the campus and greater communities.
Research projects seek to bring new perspectives to FUA academics and to the overall growth of knowledge in various disciplines.
Three main areas of research guide the direction of proposals and accepted projects in collaboration with researchers:
- Migrant experiences of the hospitality industry
- Experiential Learning and Experiential Travel as a viable teaching strategy
- Exploring convenient food consumption and its impact on society
Both the FUA and external academic communities may submit proposals for research. Submissions must follow specific criteria and formatting that may be requested from the Research Coordinator. Research outcomes are published by FUA.
The 2017 research grant is currently open (June 30, 2017 deadline). Please check back with us for subsequent call for grant proposals.
