 Application Forms

The FUA application form for admissions has grouped the following programs of study:

  • Study Abroad: Semesters, Quarters/Short Sessions (Fall, Spring, Summer, Highlight Programs).
  • Career Programs: Fulfillment of levels based on the Quarter Sessions. Includes special highlight career programs on a short-term basis. 
  • 4-Year Undergraduate Programs: Three choices of 4-Year Curricula and their relative majors
  • Non-Credit Internships: Minimum 3-week experience that combines Italian language and professional internships.

Enrollment Guidelines and Admissions Requirements

 

To enroll in the study abroad programs, keep in mind the following:

 

1. Application Deadlines per session.

 

2. Applicants are expected to meet the following criteria:
For US/Canadian students a required minimum GPA of 2.75 , English Fluency , High School Diploma or equivalent

 

3. Please send Program Application (signed and completed) Official transcript, CV, or statement of prior experience (if applying for intermediate or advanced

levels only), and USF Conduct Waiver (if requesting a USF School of Record Transcript) using one of the following methods:

To enroll in the Career Programs, keep in mind the following:

 

1. Application Deadlines

 
2. Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent and English fluency
 
3. Students applying for entrance to Intermediate or higher levels of any program must provide the following items:

  • Detailed curriculum vitae specifying any professional experience in the field of desired Career Program (a minimum of 6 months experience is necessary)
  • Submit transcripts for previous academic coursework.
  • Depending on the Career Program, pass an entry examination upon arrival in Florence or send a detailed portfolio of work examples related to the field.

Please note: The Master programs in Italian Cuisine and International Baking have particular pre-requisites such as previous professional experience or a culinary degree/certification. See specific program for details. U.S. Veterans, please inquire for information on 2-year Apicius programs that are eligible for tuition benefits.

To enroll in Undergraduate 4-Year Programs, keep in mind the following:

 

1. Application Deadlines

 
2. Requirements: 

  • Application Form and Fee: students must submit a completed and signed application form along with the Application Fee.
  • Official Transcripts: we require a copy of official transcripts for all high school and college level studies. We require official records, transcripts, for all programs of study whether or not the program was completed. All official records must be submitted directly from the institution unless the institution does not offer this service.
  • GPA Requirements: For US and Canadian students wishing to complete their undergraduate 4-year program with FUA, they must meet a minimum required cumulative GPA of 2.75.
  • Language Requirements: Applicants for undergraduate study at FUA whose native language is not English must demonstrate English Proficiency by submitting an official TOEFL record.
  • Letters of Recommendation: Letters of recommendation are not required. If however a student chooses to include a letter, or letters, of recommendation with their application, they must be addressed to FUA Admissions Office, in a sealed envelope. The contents of the letter should address the student’s academic ability, potential and what he/she will gain from studying at FUA.
  • Personal Statements: An applicant can choose to include a personal statement with their application. This letter should help us learn about you, the applicant, and your qualities beyond your test scores, grades and work history.
  • Resume/Curriculum Vitae: We require all applicants to send a Resume/Curriculum Vitae along with their application. This document should reflect the applicant’s work and research history.

To enroll in the FUA-SNHU Bachelor's Degree Programs, keep in mind the following:

  • GPA Requirement: For US/Canadian students a required minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Language Requirements: Applicants whose native language is not English must demonstrate an English Language proficiency of 6.5 IELTS or 71 TOEFL IBT. Students who score 6.0 IELTS or 61-71 TOEFL IBT will be required to take ENG 070 and ENG 101 course equivalents in Florence.
  • Official Transcripts: we require a copy of official transcripts for all high school and college level studies. We require official records, transcripts, for all programs of study whether or not the program was completed. All official records must be submitted directly from the institution unless the institution does not offer this service. Please note: Students seeking to transfer from a higher education institution should submit their official transcripts of all courses taken together with their application. Some courses maybe transfer eligible and applied towards the 3+1 curriculum. Please note: FUA requires an overall minimum grade point average of 2.00, with no more than one grade lower than C- in core courses.
  • Letters of Recommendation: applicants should submit at least one letter of recommendation with their application, addressed to FUA Admissions Office, in a sealed envelope. The contents of the letter should address the student’s academic ability, potential and what he/she will gain from studying at FUA.

To enroll in the Non-Credit Internships, keep in mind the following:

 

1. Application Deadlines

 
2. Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent and English fluency
 

3. Please send your application form including: Required documentation stated in STEP 1 (Official transcript or record of previous courses taken, CV, or statement of prior experience if applying for intermediate or advanced levels only), Cover Letter, Portfolio with examples pertaining to your desired field.

 

4. An online phone conference will be scheduled with the candidate and acceptance into the program will be officially communicated by the Registar’s Office.
