MULTICULTURALISM, FOOD, AND RELIGIONS IN THE ITALIAN-FRENCH RIVIERA
FUA’s 1-week, 3-credit field learning course, LSSOIF280 Multiculturalism, Food, and Religion in the Italian - French Riviera, engages the student in the exploration of the history and culture of the French and Italian Riviera, a region that still today preserves a peculiar identity, and builds a bridge between the Mediterranean and Northern Europe. This field learning course engages the student in a multicultural exploration of food, religion, and society along the Italian-French coastal areas. The program content includes lectures, visits to historic and contemporary sites, tastes of local gastronomy, expanded cultural horizons, and contact with local culture, which will directly strengthen and challenge perspectives of the areas examined.
Course content is compatible with several areas of study such as history, food diversity, multiculturalism, European studies, art and religion.
