Lucia Giusti, the author of the fashion blog, “Legally Chic,” recently hosted a guest lecture at FAST. A former lawyer, Lucia is now one of the most well-known fashion influencers in Tuscany. After leaving her the legal field 10 years ago and make blogging her full-time career, she decided to maintain a nod to her former job hence the name of her blog, “Legally Chic.”
Lucia’s style evolves around mixing independent with luxury, and likes to style her outfits in a creative way. With her many skills as a fashion influencer, she can pair looks perfectly with the photoshoot location, as she prefers to wear bolder outfits in mundane locations, and vice versa. Lucia works with many independent and large-scale brands, such as Dior, making her a very eclectic case study as an influencer.
FUA fashion studies students were able to get an insider’s view of life as a fashion influencer and directly dialog with Lucia about what it’s like to work in the industry. She explained to the students that her style is very inspired by her grandmother, who was the best-dressed person in her small town, and she still wears to this day her grandmother’s vintage jewels styled with newer looks. She also revealed her day-to-day life to the students, which includes working in her home office with her assistant and photographer. She also shared how she is able to make a living for herself from brand collaborations, Instagram engagement, and her website. Lucia also described in detail her involvement in key moments of the fashion industry, such as the Paris and Milan fashion weeks whose hectic schedules require a well-strategized balance between show attendance, web and social media management, and personal styling.
The fashion courses at FAST appreciated Lucia’s visit as a guest lecturer, and learned a great deal from her insights.
