FACULTY CREDENTIALS

 

The teaching staff at FUA-AUF across disciplines represents diverse academic and professional backgrounds, as well as nationalities. FUA-AUF faculty members are appointed according to credentialing standards comparable to those of instructional staff in US higher education.

Furthermore, faculty credentials also meet the standards of the Southern Association of Schools and Colleges (SACS) through the institution’s School of Record, the University of South Florida.

General Eligibility Requirements
In order to be eligible to teach at FUA-AUF instructors must meet the following requirement:
Minimum Master’s Degree or Laurea Magistrale, or Laurea Vecchio Ordinamento in the field or discipline related to the course that will be taught. Some disciplines may require 18 graduate US credits OR 26 ECTS in subjects pertinent to the assigned course.

 

Eligibility for the International School of Business
In order to be eligible to teach at FUA’s International School of Business instructors must also meet the following requirement:
18 graduate US credits OR 26 ECTS credits in subjects pertinent to the assigned course.
Please note: eligibility of candidates is reviewed according to SACS and AACSB standards.

 

Eligibility due to Professional Expertise or Repute
When the candidate shows proven record of professional experience in a given field, by decision of the Academic Senate and FUA-AUF’s School of Record, a certain number of credits can be recognized as an equivalent of the academic career.
Please note: “Professional Qualifications” (PQ) may be reviewed and considered for teaching qualification for technical subjects.

 

Faculty Appointments
The Academic Affairs Office oversees the institutional appointment procedure necessary to determine the eligibility of faculty members. The appointment process includes the collection of required documentation, interviews with faculty management and HR units, and a live teaching assessment in the presence of an academic committee.
