The Summer 2017 edition of the Introduction to Lighting course at FUA features a special collaboration between FUA and the Consiglio Nazionale degli Architetti Pianificatori Paesaggisti e Conservatori (CNAPPC). The course, scheduled for Summer II on June 6-22 from 6 to 8:30pm, is open to both professional architects, whose participation will be officially recognized by the Order, and university-level students.

The reciprocal benefit for both participant categories involve exposure to international perspectives for the Italian architects and interaction with professional figures for study abroad students through the discipline of lighting design. Main course topics feature light as a design element, lighting fixtures and installation plans, and balancing aesthetic and technical aspects of lighting projects. The course will feature an exclusive field learning activity to visit Targetti Sankey S.p.A, a Florentine lighting company that was established in 1928 and has expanded to European and international markets. Course participants will have the opportunity to visit the headquarters of the team that created the lighting design for world-class projects such as the Louis Vuitton Foundation and the renovated Uffizi Gallery.

For details on this course, please visit the Summer 2017 Session II calendar and course schedule on the FUA website and write to admissions@fua.it for information on how to apply. For university-level students, enrollment is processed through the standard FUA admissions process and there is an introductory interior design course prerequisite to be admitted to the course.

Please note for professional architects interested in this course: 15 CFP credits (Creditivi Formativi Professionali) are awarded upon completion of this course. The credits are awarded by CNAPPC with the approval of the Italian Ministry of Justice and count towards the 60-credit per triennial requirement for licensed architects.
