2015 Academic Conference De Re Mediterranea: Call for papers announced.

 

Florence University of the Arts and SUNY Stony Brook are pleased to announce the 2015 conference details:

 

Conference Dates

December 4th and 5th, 2015

 

Conference Theme and Call for Papers

The 2015 theme, "De Re Mediterranea," examines the impact of "Mare Nostrum" on Mediterranean societies and civilizations. The conference call for papers may be downloaded for guidelines on how to submit abstracts for conference panels. Call deadline is July 15th and selected candidates will be notified by July 31st.

  • An analysis of the Mediterranean in terms of human geography and history
  • Cultural aspects pertaining to the Mediterranean from a cross-cultural perspective
  • The concept of identity within the Mediterranean framework
  • Mediterranean culinary traditions as a bridge between cultures and a synonym of middle ground
